Local Image Saver: Save full-resolution images, convert formats in your browser
Why web images usually aren't the original
Images displayed on the web usually aren't the original file — many pages only load a small compressed version (lazy-loaded) or use srcset to serve different sizes. Local Image Saver was built to always find the highest-quality version available.
How Local Image Saver finds and saves images
The extension automatically detects higher-resolution candidates in srcset, lazy-loaded images, linked originals, and images hidden in page metadata. You can save images in their original format, or convert them to PNG, JPG, or WebP with custom compression — including choosing a background color when flattening transparent images to JPG. Need it right away? Copy straight to the clipboard.
Batch downloads for image-heavy pages
For pages with lots of images, Local Image Saver supports batch downloads (up to 20 originals or 10 converted images per action), with filters by filename, URL, alt text, dimensions, and sorting by file size or page order. Every step — from discovery to conversion — happens locally in your browser: no account, no ads, no tracking.
